The Road Less Taken

 Hey!

We have had such a crazy past couple weeks, which seems to be a usual around here. I'll just share a couple highlights.

We made our big road trip again. We went up north to Techiman, Sunyani, tamale and then president had us go over to Wa. From Tamale to Wa its about a 5 hour drive. There are two roads in which you can drive to get to Wa. One goes down and around through Techiman and one is a straight pass that goes through mole national park. The one that that goes straight through was named as a dangerous road. I'm not sure who classified it as that but the mission has always stayed away from it. It was known to have robbers on it. Well president wanted us to go to Wa from tamale and we didn't want to make the 12 hour drive that went through Techiman, we would rather take the 5 hour drive so we asked president if we could try that road. Technically no one had tried it to say it was dangerous, so we wanted to try it out to see how it was. So we took the 5 hour road and we made it safe and sound. I think they say it is dangerous because there are no police on the road. I probably wouldn't take it at night but during the day it was actually a super nice road. After a long week away from home we finally made it back. It is so nice to be in your own place at your own apartment.

We got back to our area and had one week until our baptismal service. We met with brother Kwesi, kelvin and their family. We also were with Stephanie as well. It was just a great week in our area. I told you guys about kelvin's dad and about Stephanie. These two people/families have been so much fun to work with. So many miracles have happened this week. We taught brother Kwesi about the word of wisdom and he told us that the day he read about it (which was the first day he met us) he made the decision to never drink alcohol again. He even went to a funeral last Saturday and people were asking him why he wasn't drinking, he told them that he had been touched by God and that he promised to never drink again. He was able to stand up to his colleagues and not do something that is so normal out here.

Sunday then came around and we had 5 baptisms. We were supposed to have 6 but Kojo's sister got scared. So we had her watch to get comfortable. She will join the baptisms for next month. But I had the opportunity to baptism our 5 investigators and it was just such a great Sunday. We went back to brother Kwesi's home and talked to him about the baptism. He told us that right before we showed up, him and his son were talking about their experience going under the water and coming out. I just love that picture, a father and his son having a heart to heart about a spiritual experience they had together. As he was telling us some of the things they said the spirit was so strong. He mentioned his experience being brought down into the water and coming up. He told us that as he was lifted up he could feel all of his past mistakes and sins and burdens being washed away. That he was rising with christ and what that meant to him. He was so happy and he wants us to come and teach his wife in twi so that he can have his whole family together. What a special experience it was on Sunday. These are the experiences I will never forget, God is so good.

After a great weekend, we are getting back to it. We are now starting to plan for the next mlc and zone conferences. We will have a mission wide devotional this Friday which we are excited for. We have some exchanges this week and are getting ready for transfers! Seems like every transfer comes and goes just as quick as the last one.
