Hey everyone!
We have had a great couple weeks. I love being a missionary and I am loving the experiences I am having. This week we were actually able to spend some time in our area which was much needed. I'll share an experience I had this past week.
In our branch we have some kids that have been coming for awhile now. Specifically this kid named kelvin and his brother Jason and his baby sister Elsa. They have been coming every Sunday for about a month or more and so we decided to walk with them after church to visit with their family. We got to their house and met the father and mother there. We got talking with them and had a really good time. Their parents are super supportive of them coming to church. We told the parents that we wanted to come back and talk with them about what we were teaching their kids, so we left them with a pamphlet that talked about the restoration. We told them that we would come back and talk more about it. A couple days later we went by that same family. We sat down with the dad and talked for awhile. The dad started talking about Jesus Christ, the great apostasy, Joseph smith, the book of Mormon, everything! He had read the pamphlet and knew everything inside. My companion and I were super surprised. We talked to him about joseph smith and he told us how he related to him and his story. He had been asking the same questions joseph smith asked and he knew he needed to follow his example. He also talked about the book of Mormon a lot. He said he always knew that there had to be something else, that the Bible wasn't "complete" and he said when he read about the book of Mormon, he got an answer to his question. We really just had a great time with him and his family. It just showed me again that the Lord is preparing so many people for us. Miracles still exist and this is the Lords work. We went back again and he told us that he was just telling his wife about the restoration, he was telling her that he finally found a church he was going to take the family to. These are the experiences I love, and will never forget. These are the people that I will miss so much when I leave back to America. But God is good and he is looking out for his children
Like I said I am absolutely loving it out here. My testimony grows each and every day and I am having some really great experiences. We are preparing for our zone conferences now. It sure was nice being in our area last week because now that zone conferences are starting, that means the traveling is starting. We won't be in our area for the next 2 ½ weeks which blows.
Well I love you all and will see ya next week!
Love Elder Morgan
