Bearing Testimony in Front of an Apostle of the Lord

It has been such a good week this week. I know I say that every time, but it has been. It has been filled with spiritual experiences, service, teaching and growing. Elder Morrissey and I have been doing as best we can under the circumstances we have.

Let's see what happened this past week. Well we have still been teaching lots of members and our friends who are progressing. We have high hopes of getting in contact with three of our referrals this week, so we are excited. We have started to do member walks, where we basically go on walks with members to houses of people they have been thinking of: part member families, families with unbaptized children or nonmembers. It has been getting cold though! Today it snowed quite a bit. The past couple of weeks have been around a high of like 35 degrees, so I'm definitely trying to get use to the cold. I love the snow though. It reminds and gets me in the mood for Christmas.

We had a mission conference on Thursday in which Elder Rasband from the Quorum of the Twelve joined us. It was over zoom but it was probably the best devotional I have attended. I actually got a call on Wednesday from Church Headquarters in Utah. It was Elder Rasband's secretary and he asked if I would bear my testimony before Elder Rasband talked. It was a really neat experience, being able to bear my testimony in front of an apostle of the lord. The whole devotional was very good. We basically did a question and answer with Elder Rasband. I learned a lot and felt the spirit, so what more could you ask for?

We also had transfers today! I got a call this morning and guess what!! I was called to be a District Leader trainer. So I will be over a district of 6 of us Elders, and I'm excited! I will be staying in Roy, finishing up Elder Morrisseys training. Two people are leaving the house, so tomorrow we will be getting two new elders. But that's the big news of today. We are looking forward to the new transfer and another great week.

I hope you all had a great week this past week! Staying safe and in good spirits. I hope you are all having a great Christmas month! Thanks again for the love and support, it means a lot. I love you all

Quarantine Life & Miracles

Hello everyone!

We had another great week this week. Unfortunately we were quarantined for the week. We just got out on Sunday, but we stayed busy so I can't complain. Nothing out of the ordinary this week, still teaching lots of lessons, we couldn't do service this week do to the quarantine so we will resume this coming week. Elder Morrissey and I found ways to stay busy and productive. We actually made a video! He is a very talented piano player and so we made a Christmas video.

I almost forgot! We had some really cool experiences this past week. I have mentioned the two kids that we are teaching Aiden, and Nikko. Two weeks ago we talked to Nikko about baptism and his parents wanted to wait till after quarantine, which was a bummer. So we fasted on Sunday for both him and Aiden. Let me tell you, that when you fast with real intent having faith, miracles are able to take place. We met with Nikko not planning on setting a date to be baptized due to prior experiences and we came out of that lesson having set a date of Jan 2nd for Nikko to be baptized! Through promptings and with the help of the lord we had a really cool experience during the lesson. It definitely built mine and Elder Morrissey's testimony about fasting and miracles that are able to take place. We then taught Aiden that night and we came out of that lesson having set a date of Jan 3rd for Aiden to be baptized! Our God is truly a God of miracles. So Sunday we put two kids on date to be baptized the first weekend of January. Elder Morrissey and I are excited for the step they are taking and the experiences that we have had that have built our testimonies even stronger.

Overall it was a good weekend, filled with spiritual experiences. We are looking forward to this week, as we will be able to do service and have appointments set to teach some new people. It's also the last week of the transfer! It's crazy how fast it went, Elder Morrissey is already half way done with his training. Next week I should know if I am staying here in Roy to finish his training or if I am leaving but I'll keep all ya'll updated!

Thanks for your love and support, I hope you guys had a great week this week and an even better one his coming week.

Thanksgiving

Hello everyone!

This week has been solid. We have been staying busy even through the holiday. Let's see, we have been teaching a lot of lessons, had some service projects and had Thanksgiving!

As far as service this week, on Wednesday Aiden's family ordered 8 yards of mulch for their garden. So they recruited Elder Morrissey and I to help. We just had to transport it by wheelbarrow to the back yard. We got it all finished though. Then on Friday we got to help out with the deck again. We got most of it done besides the facing so we will go back this next week and finish it up. But it has been nice to get out of the house and help those with projects.

Thanksgiving was on Thursday! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We got to be with our district for the day, so just 6 of us Elders. That morning we sent out some hopeful messages to those who were alone on Thanksgiving. Elder Morrissey is really good at playing the piano so he made an arrangement and we made our video around that, it turned out well! We then got food from smith's (grocery store) delivered to a church building, so we could eat our Thanksgiving dinner. Not gonna lie it didn't quite taste like Thanksgiving back home, but we are grateful that we got food. That night we had a musical devotional as a mission and it was just a good way to end off the night. Overall it was a good Thanksgiving.

Well today we found out that our Zone Leaders that we live with came into contact with someone who had covid so we are quarantined until further notice. Yay quarantine again!! We just have to wait three days and see if they get symptoms so hopefully they don't and then we can resume our daily activities. Fingers crossed it will all be okay

That's pretty much my week, we are looking forward to this next week and the opportunities to come. I heard a bit from the family, and it sounds like most had a good Thanksgiving. I'm glad you are all doing well, I'm getting excited for Christmas and may or may not have already decorated. It won't be the same as being home, but we will make the best of the holidays while out in Utah. I hope all y'all are decorated and are getting ready for Christmas. Thanks again for the emails, it means a lot. It's fun to stay up to date with everyone. I love you all and hope you guys have a great week!
