Growing the Teaching Pool

Hello everyone!

This week has been solid, nothing really new. We are continuing to teach Aiden and Nikko and a lot of member lessons. Elder Morrissey and I are working hard to find new ways of getting people to act in charity and love. So far we are seeing a lot of progress, miracles are still taking place today. We continue to learn and grow and learn how we can be more effective. I have only been out what 4months? And I have learned so much about the gospel and my savior Jesus Christ and I continue to learn every day.

We got another referral this week. The Williams family is moving in today and so we are going to meet with them this week and start to teach the dad who is not a member. So our teaching pool is growing!

Let's see, oh ya this week Elder Morrissey and I got to tear down a deck and help to build a new one. We will go back this coming week and finish building it. It was so much fun though! It brought me back to my days back before the mission. People in the stake are getting word that I have experience with landscape and construction work and so we have had many opportunities to do service in the area I love!

I hope you all had a great week this past week, and have a great Thanksgiving on Thursday! We just found out that the Layton WSA Ward is providing us Thanksgiving dinner so we are excited for that. We are doing a service project and have a devotional that night. But I hope you guys have a safe but fun time with family and friends. I have loved getting emails from all yall. It's fun to stay in the loop with your guys adventures. I love you all, and hope you have a good week!

Quarantine and Back Again

Hello everyone!

It has been a solid week this week, we have stayed busy while in quarantine so that has been nice. We just got an email about two days ago that religious gatherings were an exception, so it was a shorter quarantine then expected!

On Sunday we taught Aiden again and talked with his family for a bit, so that was fun. He still wants to be baptized, and his father actually wants to do it! So we are going to get the parents active, so he can baptize Aiden. We found another kid named Nikko, he is 11rs old and wants to be baptized as well! We taught him and his family on Sunday and had a really good lesson. Our one other piece of good news is that we heard from one of our bishops that a family recently moved in and also has a 9 yr old daughter that wants to be baptized so we will get in touch with her this week. It is nice to have people to teach and to be able to see the blessings from our efforts.

Not much else is new, today was pretty chill. Me and Elder Stumpf made homemade Sourdough Bread and it turned out great! Other then that, we have had a great week and will hopefully have another great week this coming week. I love you all, and appreciate the emails from all yall. Stay safe, and have a great week this week!

Making Progress and Back to Quarantine!

Hello everyone!

We had a solid week this week, it started off on Tuesday when Elder Morrissey got here, my new companion. He came straight from the online MTC, all the way from Pocatelo Idaho! Haha he is about 2 hours from home. He was in the MTC for 9 weeks because he was called to the Baltic mission, Russian speaking. He is really cool! We get along well, so that's good. He has the greeny fire, which I love. When Elders first get out they are ready to start the missionary work and work hard.

Malachi and Elder Morrissey

We had a busy week this week, we taught over 40 member lessons and are starting to see progress in the area! We had a couple service projects, the last one ended early do to the snow! That's right it snowed on Saturday. It's been freezing here already, and let me tell you walking 30 min to church in the snow is so much fun.

We gave talks yesterday in Sacrament meeting, I told Elder Morrissey that we were giving talks the day he got here. I think it may have freaked him out a bit but they went well. I spoke on the Atonement and he spoke on the Book or Mormon.

Last night we had an emergency zoom call with our mission president. Apparently the state of Utah is going into a quarantine for two weeks. They are trying to target the age range of 15-20 yr Olds. They put in place a mandate mask wearing in public. There are no social gatherings for two weeks, and if you don't comply you will be fined. So our mission president said we can't do any in person lessons, no service, and are reguired to wear masks on walks. We will have to figure out things to do during these next two weeks to keep us busy. You got to love covid!

I hope you are all doing well, I've loved getting emails from all yall. Thanks for the love and support. Hope you have a great week this week and stay warm!

Trained and Now Training

Hello everyone!

These past two weeks have been so good, the area is really picking up. We have been busy with member lessons, and have seen progress in the work! We are still working with Aiden, and just this week found a possible two more kids that want to be baptized. Me and Kline are excited that the work has been picking up.

I got a call on Thursday from President Call, and he says '' Elder Morgan, do you have any legal ties that you haven't resolved back home? Because the mission office got a letter from the Sacramento Sheriff's Department today." I laughed so hard and told him not to worry, and that it was just a letter for my visa. He laughed and said "well I'm glad you aren't going to jail Elder Morgan" haha it was really funny.

Saturday was Halloween. We didn't do much for Halloween, but we had to be in the house by 5pm. We had to be in early because people in Utah will dress up like missionaries and will vandalize. Our Mission President said that if he knows that everyone is inside then he will know that they aren't actual missionaries going around and causing trouble. But we had a fun night, we had a music devotional for the whole mission over zoom and then we carved pumpkins.

Today is transfers!! I got a call around 2pm and found out that I am........... TRAINING. I'll be staying in Roy and my new companions name is Elder Morrissey. I'll meet him tomorrow, but I am so excited!! It will be fun to switch things up, especially now that the area is progressing.

Malachi will now be training Elder Morrissey

That's all I got for you guys, I hope that you are all doing well. I hope you had a great Halloween and have a great week this week! I would love to hear how all yall are doing, so send me an email!

Love you all, Elder Morgan
